Bang for your buck

Yesterday I went shopping and spent a whopping Euro 8.67. I had two shopping bags full of goods for my Euro 8.67. It always surprises me how cheap foodstuff is here in Spain. When I think of how far 80 rand would go in South Africa I am always in awe of how much I can get here for the same amount. Let's look at what I bought. I bought 5 packets of Cono chips (a bugle shaped cheesy snack), 1 packet of Panchitos Chocolate biscuits, 1 bottle of mouth wash, 1 bottle of red lentils, 1 bottle of garbonzo beans (chick peas), 1 three pack of tinned tuna, 1 eight pack of natural yoghurt and 1 six pack of San Miguel cider. Yes, all that for 8.67! It is very reasonable. The only drawback is that the shop I went to, to get all the stuff is one bus and two train rides away. So it is a long journey back with bags. Heavy bags I might add...

My bounty for 8 Euros

That does not mean to say that other shops are much more expensive than Al Campo - the place I shopped at yesterday. The other supermarkets are similarly priced. The thing about Al Campo is that it is situated in a modern mall with other chain shops around it. One of these chain stores is a clothing shop called Primark. Primark is an Irish brand. The Primark shop has had a sale on for the entire month of July and the prices are ridiculously cheap. I bought a golf shirt for 1 Euro. I bought shirts and long pants for 3 euros each. I spent 10 Euros and got all the clothing in the photo below. It is high quality clothing made out of premium grade fabrics. I could not believe the bargains in there. I have become a shopper. A bargain shopper!!
